Tatler recognises UWC Atlantic as one of the Top Public Schools

The Tatler Schools Guide has highlighted UWC Atlantic’s welcoming community spirit, where students are encouraged to flourish through a wealth of extracurricular opportunities. From growing produce for the kitchens and caring for rescue donkeys to joining the daring Atlantic Dippers or building boats for launch in the Bristol Channel, life at the college is described as “hard not to shine.”

Principal of the College Naheed Bardai, who joined in 2021, is celebrated by parents as “passionate,” “committed,” and “visionary.” Under his leadership, the school has launched Systems Transformation Pathway: Leadership for Just Futures, a pioneering educational pathway exploring critical global themes such as biodiversity, energy, migration and food.  The programme’s inaugural cohort has already secured places at leading universities including Stanford, Brown and Northwestern.

With 36% of its students currently supported by scholarships, and an ambitious target to increase this to 60% by 2032, UWC Atlantic remains committed to accessibility and diversity. Its alumni include King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, Princess Leonor of Spain and Baroness Morgan, First Minister of Wales.

This latest recognition from Tatler affirms UWC Atlantic’s reputation as a school that not only nurtures future leaders but also equips them to make a difference in the world.
