Ranga Appeal - Zimbabwean Scholarship
Ranga believed in the power of education to change lives and his final sponsored student graduated on 24 May 2025.
We invite you to help create a life-changing scholarship for future Zimbabwean students at UWC Atlantic in honour of Ranga's deep love for Zimbabwe and his unshakable commitment to opening doors for others.
This scholarship will support students from Zimbabwe to study at UWC Atlantic, based at St Donat’s Castle in Wales, for two transformative years completing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. It will provide not just an education, but a life-changing opportunity to live, learn, and grow in a diverse, global community like Ranga did.
Your support will help ensure that Ranga’s vision lives on - bold, generous and full of possibility.

Ranga and UWC Atlantic
Ranga Muvavarirwa, originally from Zimbabwe and later based in Denver, Colorado, was a cherished member of the UWC Atlantic community in Wales, UK.
A proud graduate, Ranga never forgot the life-changing opportunity he received to study at the college. It was his dream to give that same experience to young people from Zimbabwe - students from the same background as his, with the same potential, but limited means.
Throughout his life, Ranga remained deeply connected to the Atlantic College, quietly and generously supporting scholarships so that others could follow in his footsteps. His kindness, intelligence and bright smile left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him and his legacy continues through the lives he changed - and those we hope to change next.

Meet Utloile- the last student supported by Ranga's vision
Utloile is from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and thanks to a scholarship supported by Ranga, he had the incredible opportunity to attend UWC Atlantic in Wales, UK - a dream he once thought was out of reach.
Ranga, shared a similar journey. He too once believed studying at UWC Atlantic was impossible - until a scholarship made it a reality. Inspired by his own experience, Ranga created this scholarship with his own financial backing, to open the same door for others.
At UWC Atlantic, Utloile thrived, not only excelling academically but also emerging as a strong leader. He was elected Chair of the Student Council and became a role model within the community. This experience broadened his perspective and deepened his commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
Utloile graduated in May 2025 and will soon begin his next chapter at Bates College in Maine, USA, where he will study Economics and Engineering. His journey stands as a powerful testament to the transformative impact of Ranga’s scholarship.
Now, Utloile is determined to pay it forward. Like Ranga, he wants to ensure that other young Zimbabweans have the same life-changing opportunity to grow, lead, and succeed. Will you help us continue this legacy?
Your support will help fund a scholarship for the next student from Zimbabwe and change another life.
